ESPOLÒN TEQUILA CINCO DE MAYO CAMPAIGN

#LiftSpiritsWithEspolon Digital Activation 2020

OBJECTIVE

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo by launching Espolòn Tequila Canada’s social media presence and supporting Canada’s hospitality industry during the pandemic. The campaign aimed to grow the brand’s digital following, increase awareness, and engage consumers through a creative virtual activation highlighting local restaurants and mixology culture.

APPROACH

  • Developed and executed the #LiftSpiritsWithEspolon social media campaign, designed to unite chefs, restaurants, and consumers in celebration of Cinco de Mayo
  • Partnered with five nationally recognized restaurants — Rosalinda Restaurant, DaiLo Restaurant, El Catrin Destileria, Native Tongues Taqueria, and The Citizen — each creating a South American-inspired dish and tequila cocktail
  • Hosted a virtual Tequila and Taco Tour across Instagram, featuring live cooking demos and cocktail tutorials beginning at 5 PM on May 5th
  • Coordinated 12 influencer-led Grand Margarita Kit Giveaways to drive engagement and participation
  • Leveraged cross-platform storytelling to amplify Espolòn’s visibility and foster brand connection across Canada

RESULTS

  • 1M+ total campaign impressions
  • 672K+ social media impressions from participating restaurants
  • 12 influencer giveaway activations generating 10K total entries
  • 100K giveaway-related social impressions
  • 1.5K Instagram follower growth during campaign period
